After having moved the city for two weeks to the lively beat of poetry, Transpoesie 2018 reaches a new station. The Balassi Institute, long-time partner of the festival, opens its doors to the third poetry-reading event of 2018.

TRANSPOESIE and MuntPunt have joined forces for the second consecutive year to present to you a great selection of literary talents from across Europe.

Be part of the celebration of diversity of European languages at a unique poetry reading event, with eight poets from different European countries reading in their own languages. Translations of the poems will be projected simultaneously.


The 8th TRANSPOESIE poetry festival takes place from September 26 until October 11.

TRANSPOESIE 2018 is now calling for participation in this year’s celebration of poetry and linguistic diversity in Brussels.

We propose two types of participation:

  1. with a poem, published on our website and displayed in the public transportation network in original language and two translations (French and Dutch).
  2. with a poem and its poet attending one of the reading events organised in Brussels in September and October
