Ida BÖRJEL

BÖRJEL Ida

Poems

*** [INANNA]

Ida Börjel, f. 1975, bosatt i Röstånga.

Ida Börjel was born in 1975 and lives in Röstånga, Sweden.
In her fifth book “Ma”, and from the perspective of Danish poet Inger Christensen’s conceptual poem “Alphabet”, Ida Börjel witnesses of a despair in the world that has made possible the assault, mass starvation and human spillage.
The title “Ma” stands for the Japanese sign meaning emptiness as in deficiency or lack of presence rather than emptied, also as in half the word Mama, which within the grieving never can become complete through the child’s echo.
Ida Börjel has among other awards received The Swedish Radio’s Lyric Award, The Swedish Academy’s Kalleberger Grant and for “Ma” she has received The Gerhard Bonnier Lyrics’ Award.
