Radu BATA

Franco-Romanian author of a dozen various books - novel, tale, journal, short prose, translations - Radu Bata is the inventor of a new poetry style (poems without the fuss), a lyrical genre adapted to reconcile readers with poetry, praised by great literary specialists. His first collection of poetry, Le Philtre des nuages et autres ivresses, received the “Prix du Salon du Livre des Balkans” in 2015. In 2020, an album of songs composed by Pierre Donoré and Jean-Christophe Prince was published based on the poetry of Bata from the volume Survivre malgré le bonheur  (Jacques André Éditeur) – Les Enfants des nuages. He published as well a bilingual book, in French and Romanian: French Kiss / L'Amour est une guerre douce (Creator / Libris). Radu Bata is also the author of the double anthology of poems Le blues roumain (vol. 1 and 2, published in 2020 and 2021) and a recent volume of poetry - Le Fou rire de la pluie (Éditions Unicité).

An intermittent worker of words and dreams, Radu Bata has travelled through time and Europe, the dictionary as a marshal's staff in its pouch. He survives today in his verbal ballistics lab, somewhere between the Seine and the Danube, leaving only to say hello to the plants in his garden and shake hands with the clouds.
